CABLE NEWS.
London, August 6. The colebration of the O'Oonnell centenary commenced at Dublin with an immense attendance, the religious element preponderating. Several foreign Bishops and Ultramontane deputies were present.
August 7. At a Ministerial dinner at the Mansion House Mr Disraeli said he was confident in tho maintenance of peace if the foreign polioy was conducted with prudence and firmness. Tho Government feel the necessity of deveoping and consolidating the colonial empire, by assimilating the interests and sympathies of the colonies to those of the mother country. The wheat market is irregular. Adelaide wheat afloat, nearly all sold at 55s to 565.
Paeis, August 5. The Assembly adjourned to the 4th of November.
1 London, August 9 The"" O'Connell banquet at Dublin abruptly closed owing to dissentions caused by the Home Eu'ers.
Catholio demonstrations havo been held in England and Scotland, and a riot occurred in Glasgow between Orangemen and Home Bulers.
