"■■'?&.': 7oun Eratbs, Chairman. ~ CUSTOMS DClffiS. The following aro tho Customs-duties bollected at/ the Port of Thames for the 11th' May:— ' : . ■ Duty .; 324 12 0 • M.S. The Lytlcltoii Times of the Bfch reports: Deliveries of grain from farmers during the week have been principally confined to the completion of speculative wheat shipments to the home market. The ship ' Hudson' sailed on May. 3 with a full cargo of wheat, and the ' Lady Jocelyu' is also ready for sea, and takes a large quantity for the home market. Melbourne advices intimate a decline in oats, owing to large arrivals from Tasmania and New Zealand ports, and it docs not seem unlikely that ere long prices will give way here, when we take into consideration the large stocks held iu the southern districts. Most orders to this market have been executed, and only a limited quantity of oats will be required from this qurter till the spring seta in. Barley is decidedly easier, and now that brewers are well-stocked, exporters show no disposition to operate at the late rates. Potatoes are a shade better, and a trills over last week's quotations was obtained for a parcel wanted for immediate shipment. A brisk trade is still doin? in flour, both for export and town demand, and millers arc well supplied with orders. - Cash quotations paid to farmers are as follow:-rWheat, 3s 3d per bushel; oats, 2s '64 to 2s 8d; harley, 4s 6d to 4s 9d; potatoes, 42s 6il per ton; butter, Is 2d to Is 3d; cheese, B.[d to SJ4. Millers' quotations:—Flour, in sacks, £10, ilour, in 100's, £10 7s 6d, flour, in 50's, £10 15s; 10s per ton extra f.o.b. at Lyttelton; bran, £4 10s; sharps, £5; 10s per ton .extra f.o b. at Lyttelton. Dairy produce is still in small supply, and high rates rule in consequence. Hams and bacon—The now cure will be ready in the course of a week or to, and the opening rates will be high, as manufacturers had had to pay exceedingly high rates for Btock this season. . '
