(FHOH OUR OWN COBEESPONDENT.) April 10. The parties interested in the causes of Catran and others v. Portor and others, and Eiordan and others v. Catran and others met last night. The. agreement 'to amalgamate was completed, and it was decided to form a company. A provisional committee was elected—Messrs Adam Porter, James Liddell and James Finlay to represent Porter and party (No. 1 South); and Messrs William Payne, James Corbetfc and — Gi'llan to act on behalf of shareholders in the Hand-and-Band claim, and others interested. Messrs Macdonald and Brassey have been instructed to form the company without delay. It is proposed to call it the Mazeppa Gold Mining Company-the name probably having reference to the wild horsemanship displayed when the ground was taken up. The capital has been fixed at £10,000 in 10,000 shares of £1 each—nil paid up-and Mr J. L. Clark has been appointed secretary pro. tem. Before commencing mining operations it will be necessary to re-survey the whole ground, and it is also proposed to have a-mining survey made, in order to defiue exactly the strike of the), lodes opened in the Prospectors' Claim. A number of mon have left here for the • new rush at Tairua.
