Her bowsprit and foretopmast were carried away in a heavy gale.—Arrived: The s.s. 1 Taranaki' from the South.—The charge against Captain Farquhar, of the ' Star of the South,' for breach of the Customs Regulations, was also dismissed, on the ground that there was no guilty knowledge of smuggled goods being on board. It will be about ljozs.—The Koyal Oak are sending down 60 tons to the Nil Desperandum battery.—The Three Brothers began carting to the Nil Desperandum battery to-day.—Mr Rockliffe has been appointed master of the Driving Creek School.—Calloway's schooner is to be launched on Saturday.—The Eapanga mine works have been stopped for a fort-, night. Pumping is going on. Taueanga, Monday, 4 5 p.m. The Government steamer' ' Luna' arrived early yesterday, and went down to Maketu and landed Winiata Pekanui's monument arriving at the wharf again in the evening. At midnight she steamed for White Island and Southern ports. — The natives this year have more than doubled their plantations of wheat.— Complaints are general of the irregularities of the Napier overland post. There was no mail, by the last coach.
