A glee was nicely sung by a number of girls, pupils of the convent school. Among others who sang were Mrs. Drodunski, Misses Hogan and M'Mahon, Messrs. Gccldes, Uarlow, and Rae; Miss Curd’s orchestra supplied excellent music, and Messrs. Dombroski and Cilapman acted as H.*Tb. A meeting of the Inglewood school bazaar committee was held on Tuesday, a largo number being present. It was decided to bold a social in the town hall on Thursday, October 28, the proceeds to go. for material for the committee to make up for the bazaar. It was decided to have dancing in the main hall, progressive euchre in the supper-room, and bridge on the stage or in one of the corridors. Mrs. Partridge is to bo in charge of the bridge tables and Mrs. Evans in charge of the euchre. Prizes have been promised for each. The euchre prizes include a handsome silver-mounted Eng-lish-made briar pipe in case and a bag of 'coal. A party of young members of the Inglewood Salvation Army Corps are journeying to Stratford to belu at ah entertainment in the S.A. hall there their item being “The Flower Queen’s Court.”

Tm-o weddings of local interest took place in Inglewood yesterday afternoon, consequently the town did not wear its usual Thursday' afternoon’s deserted appearance. ATiss Louie Fawcett, eldest daughter of Air. R. Fawcett deputyAfnyor, was married in the Alethodist Church, the bridegroom being Air. S. L; Dickie, of Frankton Junction; the Rev. Bensley M'as tho officiating clergyman. Tho church was crowded with friends and relatives. After tho ceremony tho guests adjourned to the sup-per-room of the Town Hall, where afternoon tea was served. The happy pair left I\v tho evening train for south, a big crowd assembling to shower them with confetti and good wishes. Tlio other wedding was that of Air, Harold Breadinore of Dudley Road, to Aliss Pierson, of AA’area. The ceremony fook place in St. Andrews Church and was performed by tho Rev. Castles, vicar of Eltham, as the Rev. R, J. Stanton is at present attending Synod. The church -was filled with guests, who afterwards attended the wedding breakfast in the Egmont Tea. Rooms. L

Mr. White, of the staff of the Bank of New Smith Wales, has been transferred to Suva and leaves by fbe steamer from Auckland next 'week. Alessrs. flavins p CliuL {nton,} leaving for Fiji also, and will probably travel bv the same boat.

Airs. Bunyan recently received word that her mother had died at Foxton. Tlie old lady had reached the good old age of 98 years, and had lived in Foxton for 67 years.

Tlie funeral of Airs. J. Fabish (jnnr.) took place at Inglewood to-day. It is only a few months since her marriage. Much sympathy is felt for her young husband and relatives.

News was received in Inglewood yesterday of the death of Air. Ernest Rridgeman who died of pneumonia at New Plymouth hospital. He leaves a widow (a daughter of Air. J. Hodges), ahd four young children, for whom much sympathy is felt.
