SUGAR WORKERS’ STRIKE.
_ PROSPECT OF RESUMPTION. BI TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. WELLINGTON, August 23. The Minister of Industries and Commerce was in communication yesterday with the secretary of the Sugar Workers’ Union and the manager of the Sugar Refining Co., and ho informed a reporter this morning that he had received word from the manager that the company was making an arrangement to re-open the works. This is regarded as indicating a satisfactory state of affairs.
