Mamari, from United Kingdom, September. Rakanoa, from Newcastle, early. THE KINI. The Kini brought 850 tons of coal from Westport and 100 tons of general cargo from Wellington. She is expected to get away about Thursday for Greymouth. THE RIMU. The Rimu sailed at schedule time for Onehnnga and will return on Friday. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS, ' ARRIVED. Wellington, July 20.—Corinna (5,65 p.m.). from New PlymouthAuckland, July 21.—Waipori (7.25 a.m.), from Lyttelton. THE MAHANA’S .VOYAGE. The Mahana left Liverpool on May 27 at 8 p.m., and reached Newport News on Jnno 14. Colon was reached on Juno 19, and Balboa was left the next day. At tho latter port two ladies fell off the quay, and one, Miss Stack, was drowned. Tho other girl was res'cued by members of the ship’s crow, From Balboa onwards strong head gales were experienced. During tho voyage out an elderly woman, Mrs. P. A. Dransfield, died from heart failure, while three births occurred.
Captain V. G. Webb, late■ of the Mapourika, has been appointed assistant local marine superintendent at Wellington for the Union Company. Tho position is a now one, the whole work as Wellington .marine superintendent having hitlicrto been carried out by Captain Walton.
