CARS AND CYCLES.
THREE CANTERBURY ACCIDENTS, Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 19, A series of motor car accidents have occurred. As the result of a collision on the Lobum-Ashley Road between a car and a motor cycle Lawrence Doyle, who was riding the cycle, suffered the loss'of his right !eg.’_ ' The car strucic him on the leg, which was broken in three places. Doyle wa,s removed to the Christchurch ' Hospital, where the" limb was amputated. Another collision on the Riccarton Road, between a car and a motor, cycle resulted in the driver of the cycle' and his companion being injured, the former having his leg fractured and the latter his collarbone'broken. \ A third car and cycle accident occurred on ferry Road. Dr. Daniel, on the staff of the military hospital, was driving a car and, in endeavouring to avoid a motor “ cycle, ran into a telegraph pole. He was cut about and bruised and rendered unconscious for a time and the other occupants were also cut and bruised. The cycle struck the car and was smashed, but the drivejr and two ladies iff a side car all escaped except for minor injuries.
