DEVON STREET WEST.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—lt is nearly time someone complained of the state of Devon Street West, because at present it is almost impassable. Surely the ratepayers along this track are entitled to -have some of their rates spent on it, as we have neither roads, water, sewer, light, nor anything else—except mud. This road, which is used as a stable Smite, is within five minutes’ walk of the'pest office, hut is a disgrace to any Borough Council, and with all the heavy traffic on it should at least have a few loads of metal once in a while. It would be interesting to have published the amount of rates collected aloruy this road and the amount spent on it. I am ’ etC ~’ ONE OF THE STOCK. -
