TO THE £1)11011. Sir, —You say it would be interesting to know tue approximate age and tJic cost or cutting up tiio macrocarpa trees in the Tikoraiigi Cemetery. As near as 1 cun remember tliey would be from od to 35 years old, were donated and planted by the late Levi Barton. Tho cost of cutting them up was £ll Bs. Of course m a cemetery, where all rubbish had to bo carefully 7 picked up and burnt, tho cost was a good bit more than if they had been growing somewuoro else.—l am, etc. T. M-KENZIE.
