A GENERAL’S DEATH.
WHILE ELEPHANT HUNTING. By telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright CAPETOWN, June 9. General Raven haw, general officer commanding in South Africa, uTed from heart failure while elephant hunting in the Addo bush. The general was found to be missing from a shooting party, and a search discovered the bouy in the bush. Later details of the death of General Ravonshaw siiow that a party' were visiting the camp of Major Prctorius, the renowned elephant hunter. They went for a walk armed, but not intending to shoot, and unexpectedly encountered a herd of elephants. The others outstripped General Ravenshaw, who was found to bo missing when the . party returned. Native trackers, after a long search, discovered General llavenshaw’s body in a tangled bush, face downward, still grasping his rifle.—AusN.Z. Cable Assn.
