DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB.

“Scout.” The committee df the Rifle dub held their usual meeting on Wednesday night. Correspondence was read from Mr. A. Ballinger, Petqne Club, covering the circular of details) of the (system of automatic handicapping. A letter of thanks is to be sent to Mr. Ballinger for his courtesy in this matter, and the system will be adopted in the inter-club matches. The secretary reported the receipt of a donation of a guinea to the junior members’ competition from Mr, Jarvis, and it was decided to supplement this in. order to bring the .prize list up to the same amount as the last oue^in the previous series of competitions. The junior competitions will be completed as early as possible and the inter-club series-will then he proceeded with. The second competition for the Junior Cup, which was postponed last week on account of the weather, will’ take place to-morrow. As the days are very short it will be necessary to make as early a start as possible and on this account also a second marker will be provided.
