Tho steamer Malaita. which loaded guano at AValpolo Island for this port arrived on Saturday afternoon when ten days out, having loft the island at 2 p.m. on May 26. She was berthed after being inspected by Dr. Wade, port medical officer. The voyage was uneventful until Thursday, when the vessel ran into a moderate- easterly gale and a heavy head .sea. Discharge was commenced this morning and an effort is being made to dispatch tho vessel to-morrow for Dunedin. She will go to that port direct if canker coal can be obtained here. KARAMU. FROM GREYMOUTH. Tho Karamu arrived shortly after midnight of Saturday after a very rough passage from Greymouth. She berthed on .Sunday morning and commenced to discharge this morning, the cargo consisting of 20,000 feet of timber for tho Harbour Board, and 860 tons of ccal for the gas works and dealers. MONICA PUTS IN. In order to shift required coal from her hold to her bunkers, the steamer Monica put in on Saturday afternoon while on route from Lyttelton to Kaipara. The forniei' port was loft at 10 a.m. on Thursday. The resumed her voyage on Sunday morning. She has been trading out of Lyttelton, but lias now been acquired by northern owners. ROSAMOND DDE TO-MORROW. Tho Union Company advise that the Roqamond was scheduled to leave Wellington at 5 p.m. and should arrive here late , to-morrow afternoon. THE TURANGA. The auxiliary launch Taurnuga (40 tons) which was expected to arrive from Auckland on Saturday with benzine, had not appeared up till early this afternoon, and is presumed to have taken.shelter. EIMU REPLACING RARAWA/. Tho Rarawa is to ho taken off the New Plymouth-Onchunga run towards the end of this month in order to enter tho Auckland-Whangarcsi service while the Manaia is undergoing overhaul. Tho Northern Company advise that the Rarawa will leave New Plymouth on the evening of Friday, the 25th, for Onohunga, and will leave the latter port for Auckland on tho following day. The Rimu will take np the running from Onelnmga on Monday the 28 th. .
