THE PICTURE WORLD.

THE PEOPLE’S. LAST NIGHT OP'“CARMEN OF THE KLONDIKE.” This wonderful North-western picture, rival of the “Flame of the Yukon,” screens finally to-night at tho People’s. It is quite safe to say that it is easily tho finest picture of tho Alaskan gold-fields and the bleak-vis-aged North that lias ever been filmed. Clara Williams plays tho role of “Carmen,” and there is a particularly strong cast of supporting players. BIG DOUBLE BILL TO-MORROW. To-morrow's big neiy, bill presents popular GeOrge Walsh in. his big rapid fire comedy “Help! Help! Police!” This is the name of the play, and tho story, it is said, deals with safety razors, tho police, and a. love affair. It is denied thal the safety razors aro introduced to give Georg© a chance to cut up—the police provide that opportunity. ■ However, it is obvious that if it hadn’t been for the razors, Georgo would not have gotten into so many scrapes. Madelaine Traversa appears in a fine drama “The Love that Dares,” and tho hill includes the latest gazette. EVERYBODY’S. TOM MOORE AND CONSTANCE TALMADGE IN “THE LESSON.” Constance Talmadge’s. latest Select picture, “Tho Lesson,” is a highly entertaining photo-play—wholesomej delightful, and masterfully produced—a refreshing, clean breath of spring air in tho stifling atmosphere of the sexstressing melodramas which crowd the screen to excess. As such “The Lesson” stands out from the rut of the •common garden variety of pictures, but it possesses an additional noteworthy feature in the fidelity with which it portrays small town happenings as well as metropolitan life. Constance the cute and cunning is assisted in “The Lesson” by Tom Moore, and tho combination furnishes fine entertainment. There is an excellent supporting programme, which includes a hilarious “Sunshine” comedy entitled “Mongrels.” The screening nights are tonight and to-morrow at Everybody’s.
