IRELAND.
JUDICIAL CONDEMNATION,
OF RECENT CRIMES
By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright, LONDON, Doc. 3.
The Irish crimes were judicially denounced at the opening of the Assizes. Chief Justice Cork said the root cause was the attitude of the people, who allowed themselves to be down-trodden by a comparatively small number of reckless, wicked men. Ho asked Irishmen to assert their dignity of manhood and to end a state of things which was a disgrace to civilisation. Justices Kenny (Dublin) , and Dodd (Belfast) spoke in a similar strain. In addition to the Lord Lieutenant’s offer in connection with the recent outrages, the Under-Secretary for Ireland offers a reward of £SOO and a free pardon to any ■ but the actual miscreants.
