SWIMMING CENTRE.

FORMED IN NEW PLYMOUTH. . , A meeting cf those interested in the formation of a local-centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association in New Plymouth was held in the Soldiers’ Club last night. The Mayor (Mr. Jas. Clarke) presided and there were, present: Miss Purdue, Messrs. R. Day, W. C. Weston, C. i Brown, Dr. Wade, P. Flannagan, N. Winter, N. A. Christiansen, B. Bellringer, Eggleton, A'. Baker, M. Winter, A. R. Standish, R. L. JVITIroy, 6. Pugh, Crump, 0. M'Hardy, W. Hardgrave and P. E. Stainton. Mr. W. J. Davies was appointed l secretary pro tem. After some discussion it was decided to form a head centre of the N.Z.A.S.A. and that two representatives from the Royal Life-saving Society and: East End ; Swimming Club, and of those present, form themselves into a sub-committee to I further the object and gather infertnai tion to be submitted to a future meet- : ing. i The sub-committee was elected as fol- ; lows; Messrs.
