FROM OtTR OWN CORRESPONDENT.

A kitchen social and dance was held in the hail on Friday evening, November 29, in honour of the approaching marriage of Miss Bright and Mr. , Pickering, a returned soldier. They are both new to the district. The social was fairly well attended and the presents good and useful/ Mr. Pickering, with a mate has a farm at Ahu Aim, lately occupied by Mr. Coombs, and we wish him and his wife health and happiness. Mr. S. G. Smith met the electors in the hall on Wednesday evening, 3rd inst. Mr. W. K. Morris was in the chair. There was a very good gathering of settlers from Oakura. The address was similar to what was said at, other centres. Several questions were risked and answered satisfactorily.
