The Assembly carried an amendment to the Licensing Bill allowing hotelkeepers to sell tea, coffee, cocoa and milk during prohibited hours. VICTORIAN HEALTH BILL. (Received Dec. 6, 10.20 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Dec. 6. ~ A new clause was added to the Health Bill empowering the employment of doctors as government or municipal officers, their duties to embrace attendance on persons entitled to it under any friendly society which entered into an agreement with the Minister of Health or a municipality. GAS WORKERS’ STRIKE. (Received Dec. 6, 10.20 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Dee. 6. Gas workers at Melbourne, Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong have struck, demanding increased wages.
