TAURANGA HARBOUR.
A •PROGRESSIVE POLICY. Per Press Association. TA.UEXNGA, Dec. o. The Harbour Eoard yesterday, decided to adopt tlie suggestion of Air. Blair Mason to hire either the Auckland Harbour Board’s bucket dredge 121 or the "Westport Board's dredge Ruby Seddon. for the purpose of dredging a channel to the town wharf to accommodate steamers up to 20 feet draught. It was also decided to ask the Valuer-General to prepare a valuation roll for the Harbour District as a preliminary to taking a poll to raise £107,750 to carry out Air. Blair Alason’s scheme of improvements. With this expenditure the harbour will rank next to the present main ports of the Dominion. «
