Sir, —In reference to John Doe’s reflections on tho proverb “Prido goes before a fall,” it seems to mo that “goes before” means “leads on to,” as in a procession the standard bearer goes before the chief protagonist. Pride goes before and then probably comes—a fall!—I am, etc., VERDA STELO.
