SEASIDE QUEEN CONTEST.

After a good deal of good-humoured banter between the supporters of the rival seaside committees as to which is the most popular, an agreement has now been reached whereby the arguments will bo finally settled', and it is hoped tho finances of both organisation will bo improved so that more facilities can be afforded the general public than has been done of late, owing to the disorganisation caused by tho war. The objects of both societies are deserving of all the encouragement that the townspeople can give them, as by helping the development of the town’s beaches they are helping themselves. Tho rival parties to the dispute finally disposed of the conditions of the contest as follows : Tho East End queen nominated is Miss Bellringer, and tho Ngamotn Miss Weston. Books of votes will be issued of tho value of threepence and one shilling, and every vote will have the value of threepence. Votes will be obtainable from Mr. Price (confectioner) and Mr. Hoffmann (piano expert), and bocks to sell from can only be obtained by an order from either committee. Each committee agrees that tho gate takings at their respective picnics at the New Year shall not be included, but all profits from any other efforts will be available. Mi - . A. Brookcr will have control of the. counting , and recording of all votes, which will be published twice weekly.
