ROSS—HAYHOW.

Tho wedding took place on Tuesday of Mrs. Emily M. Hayhow, of Auckland, and Mr. Alexander Donald Stewart Rosa, of Hauraki Plains. Tho ceremony took place at the residence of Mr. E. May (brother of the bride), Devon Street ’West, Now Plymouth, and was performed bv the Rev. E. T. Cox, 51. A., of Auckland, in the presence of about eighty guests. Tho bride wore a grey silk costume and grey hat, with largo ostrich plume, and carried a shower bouquet of water lines. Sh . was attended by three bridesmaids —Miss Littlejohn, of Auckland; Miss Ross (daughter of the bridegroom), Hauraki Plains; and Miss Chappie, Auckland. Miss Littlejohn Wore a costume of cream China silk and cream Georgette hot, and carried a bouquet of apricot roses; Miss Ross and Miss Chappie were attired in cream Fuji silk, and carried bouquets of pink rosebuds. Tho best man was Mr. O. Doidge, and Messrs. 11. Hayhow and E. -May worn groomsmen. Mrs. May, hostess, wore a pretty dress or blue silk, with mole coloured hat; Mrs. J. May (A-.elsland), amethyst sulk with pale’heliotrope hat; Mrs. Hayhow (Napier), floral voile, with pretty grey hat; Mrs. Snowdon (Auckland), cream gaberdine costume with cream hat; Mrs. Smith (Auckland), blue silk, with blue hat with ostrich plume; Misses Ross, pretty grey costume with pale green hat with cherries, and cream Fuji silk with cream hat; Airs. Lovett (Auckland). white voile frock with heliotrope hat; Miss Vesta Hayhow, cream silk with cream Georgette hat; Miss Hilda Woods, white silk with blue hat; Mrs. Neal (Palmerston North), navy costume and black hat; Mrs. F. Goodacrc, black silk; Airs. A. E. Goodacrc, floral voile with black hat; Airs. Canted, pretty navv costume; Mrs. E. Billing, grey costume; Miss Doidge (Thames), pretty white frock. The bridal party and tho guests were photographed after the ceremony, and later the bridal party motored to the Central Dining Rooms, whore tbo wedding breakfast was served. Tho bridegroom is a member of the. Legion of Frontiersmen, and a number of local members of tbo Legion, under Lieut. Goldsworthy, formed a guard of honour as Air. and Airs. Ross left the residence and again as they entered tho tea rooms. The guests wore conveyed from tho residence of Air. and Airs. Alay to the tea rooms by special tramcar. 1 The tables had been beautifully decorated, and a sumptuous breakfast was served, after which a short toast list was honoured. ,“Tbo bride and bridegroom,” was proposed by the Rev. Air. Cox, and suitably acknowledged by Air. Ross, who afterwards proposed “Tho bridesmaids,” Air. Doidge responding on their behalf. Mrs. Snowdon (Auckland) proposed "The host and hostess,” and spoke in eulogistic terms of tho wonderful hospitality of Air. and Airs. Alay; Air. Alay replied. “The bridegroom’s mother” was also honoured; and Air. Hayhow proposed “Our guests,” referring particularly to tho Legion of Frontiersmen. Lieut. Goldsworthy replied. The beat man read a large number of congratulatory telegrams from different parts of tho Dominion. A large number of handsome presents were received, including one from the employees of Alessrs. Alay and Arrowsmitb. Air. .and Airs. Ross left by motor-car later in the afternoon for the south, and in the evening Air. and Airs. Alary held a reception at their residence.
