Mr. Bates’ forecast for the 24 hours from 9 am. to-day is as follows The indications 'are for southerly winds strong to gale at times, but decreasing. The weather will probably prove cold and showery, but should improve shortly. The night will probably be very cold. The barometer has a rising tendency. Seas considerable : tides moderate.
