MAORI MEMORIAL.
TO FALLEN SOLDIERS. Per Press Association. " ONQARUE, Nov, 12. The proceedings in connection with the unveiling of the memorial to fallen Maori soldiers belonging to the Mamapoto and Taupe tribes yesterday was deeply impressive. There was a religious service in Maori with a choir singing Maori hymns. Two hundred names were inscribed on the marble tablets and the obelisk was topped by a flagstaff on which was floating the British Ensign, the Maori flag, and the French, Belgian, Italian and American flags. Eighty returned Maori soldiers in uniform were present, Tho Hon. Dr. Pomare, TMr. W. T. Jennings, M.P., and Major Salmon (O.C. Maoris at Gallipoli) delivered addresses.
