THE PEACE CONFERENCE.

RUSSIAN PROBLEMS. COUNTERING THE BOLSHEVIKS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. PARIS, July 29. The Supreme Council decided that the French Commander (not General AUenby, as formerly reported) shall be the commander-in-chief of the Allied, troops on the Rhine. It was decided that no Government be allowed to sell the captured war materials. The council is considering the repatriation of 20,000 Russian war prisoners from Germany. While desirous that they shall not- remain in captivity longer than necessary, the Allies are unwilling to surrender them as’ recruits to tho Bolshevik army. Russo-British authorities at Archangel are straining every nerve to counteract the propaganda of the Bolshevik agents, who dribble across tho lines in the guise of deseiters desirous of fighting against the Bolsheviks, and spread discontent in the Russian northern army. Anti-Bolshevik leaflets are being dropped wholesale, and agents are despatched in aeroplanes to work behind the Bolshevik lines.—Renter.
