WORKERS’ COUNCIL.

MONTHLY MEETING; 'Hie usual monthly meeting of the Taranaki Workers’ Council took place on Friday evening. After the general business, the matter of ways and means of erecting a Workers’ Hall was gone thoroughly into. It was decided to hold a function on Labour Day for tho purpose of augmenting the building fund, the council having a certain amount of funds in hand for that purpose. A strong committee was set np to canvass tho unions and other bodies for funds. It is intended to issue debentures, and as tho council seems determined to push tho matter of the building, they should have no difficulty if it is gone about in a determined manner. It is hoped that a building worthy of a progressive town like NonPlymouth will be tho result of the council’s efforts.
