ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
INQUEST ON AN INFANT. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, June 14. An inquest was opened this morning on the body of a ‘fully developed male child found in a drawer yesterday in the maids’ quarters at the public hospital. The mother of the child was a domestic employee in the institution. She was not attended at the confinement and is now under medical treatment. The inquest was adjourned until she was fit to give evidence. RIDING WITHOUT A LIGHT. PALMERSTON N., Juno 13. At the inquest on Alexander Hugh Cohill, painter, the evidence showed that deceased, who was riding without a light, fell oyer the end of a bridge, injuring his spine, and a verdict of accidental death was returned. •DEATH IN A. BATH. WHANGAREI, June 14. A returned soldier named Delahunty, under treatment at Kanfo Sanitorium, went into the “champagne” mineral bath, despite orders to the contrary. He was subsequently found dead on the floor of the bath-house yesterday evening. Previously he suffered from disturbed action of the heart.
