FREIGHTS ON WOOL. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received June 5, 8 a.m.) " LONDON. June 3. Lord Inverforth, of the Ministry of Munitions, has sent Mr. Massey some interesting statements as regards the freight -arrangements for New Zealand wool. Ho states: “Since February we have had an agreement with liners to carry all the wool required for -the United Kingdom and France up to December 31 this vear at the very favourable rate of l|d. Four or five months hence the time will come to make arrangements for the 1920 freight requirements. In justice to New Zealand sheep-farmers, who have a heavy interest in the profits on the release of the wool, the Ministry of Munitions will, of. course, feel obliged to secure the lowest possible freight for wool which can be obtained from ships under tire British flag.”—Official. THE WOOL SALES. LONDON, June 23. The wool sales closed firm with good competition for super combings and crossbreds, but low for carbohising ports, and irregular, and some were withdrawn. Fine crossbreds and merino combings were about five per cent, above opening rates. Other descriptions were about par. The “Buhana” New Zealand clip made up to 28d, and averaged 26Jd. — Aus.-N.Z. It was resolved to suggest to Australian importers that in future when entering into contracts with American exporters they should distinctly state f.o.b'. oversea vessels at New .York,' San Francisco, or as the case may be. In cases where the port of export is left open, the contract should distinctly state f.0.b., free on Jioard, overseas vessel. It is suggested that this will place the meaning beyond doubt.
