INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC.
INCREASING IN AUSTRALIA

Influenza continues to increase its hold both in city and country districts. Up to Monday 0595 cases were reported in the metropolitan area and 2113 in the country. Since Saturday there were over forty deaths, including nine in the country.
SYDNEY, June 4. The influenza position is again less reassuring. I'liere were over a hundred now caset. and seven deaths in the metropolitan area to-day. In Severn) of the country centres the epidemic shows an increasing tendency. Precautions are being readopted in the country districts against the spread of the disease.
