THE DEPORTED MINER.

LANDED IN SYDNEY. ✓ By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. SYDNEY, June 4. A big crowd watched the removal of Freeman from the Sonoma to the garrison hospital at Victoria Barracks, pending the decision of the Minister of Defence. Freeman broke his self-im-posed fast last evening when informed that he was to be removed, but he is very weak after several foodless days, and he had to be carried out on a stretcher. The wharf labourers resumed loading the Sonoma when Freeman’s removal was assured. The Minister for Defence promised Mr. Tudor and other Labour leaders Cabinet consideration of the request for a free trial for Freeman.
