DRUNKEN DRIVER.
SENTENCED TO IMPRISONMENT. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, June 2. In the Magistrate’s Court to-day Arthur Vincent pleaded guilty to a charge of drunk while driving a horse and cart on the Riccarton Road and driving on the same road at night without a light. Sub-inspector Mullaney said that about a week ago defendant had been fined £lO for being in charge of a horse and cart while drunk. The Magistrate (Mr. S. E. M‘Garth y) : It appears to me that you are determined to kill somebody. You are a menace to the travelling public. You will be sentenced to one month’s imprisonment.
