June 2.—Following are the results of the second day shoot for the Loan and Mercantile Coy.’s trophy fired at ranges of 500 yards and 600 yards, ten shots with optional sighter and 11 shots with optional sighter. Shewry 20 -20 2 43 A good number of the scores are very low on account of several new members, this being their first shoot at these long ranges and using well-wom rifles, they have shown up very well in their first effort at rifle shooting. Hallett 12 95 90 185 The final shoot will be held on June 4. at tho 33 yards and 600 yards ranges under the same conditions as the two past days. On Tuesday tire 26th inst., a mask and dominp dance was organised by some of the bachelors around the Ko* huratahi district and' held in the Kohuratahi Hall, when about 30 couples put in an appearance and an enjoyable time was spent. Good music and a first class supper was provided, and tho bachelors deserve great credit for the able way in which the affair was conducted. The proceeds are to he used in future entertainments during the winter months.
