KILLED BY RAILWAY TRUCK. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, May 30. At the inquest on G. J. P. Gregory, who died from injuries caused by being run over by a railway truck there was no evidence to show how the accident occurredL The coroner returned u, verdict ot accidental death, and added a rider thfft ■ deceased, not being a member of the railway staff, had no right to ho on such trucks or to ho hoarding them or alighting therefrom. FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. . OAMARU, May 29. A fataj motor smash occurred on tho main road, about two miles north of Oamaru just after dusk this evening. Htidi Glass, licensee of the Pembroke Hotel, in tho Otago Lakes District, accompanied by his wife and young daughter. wore coming into town by motor, via' Lindas Pass. In the darkness the car apparently missed the narrow bridge over a slaallow ci'eek and dropped into the depression, the car being capsized. Details of the accident are meagre. Mrs. Glass was killed, her neck being broken. A four-year-old daiighter was apparently suffocated by being held down under the car, both being dead when tho accident was discovered. Mr. Glass, whoso people reside at 'Oamaru, is in hospital seriously injured. ACCIDENT ON BADEN POWELL.

WELLINGTON, May 29. A fatality occurred on the waterfront this afternoon, when the after-mast of the steamer Baden Powell' snapped about 15 feet from the deck and struck a man named Lepin, who was killed instantly. It appears that Lop in moved away in order to avoid tire falling; derrick, but in doing so stepped in the wrong direction. Lepin was about 26 years of age, and a. member of the Waterside Workei-s’ Union and Seamen's Union. DEATH OF A MILL HAND. RAETIHI, May 28. A man named William Dulziell died at Sollett’e mill on Saturday. An inquest was held yesterday, when the evidence showed deceased bad been drinking heavily. A verdict was returned that death had been caused through taking quantities of methylated spirits.
