.POSITION STILL DANGEROUS. GENERAL UNREST OF ISLAM. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. PARIS, April 22, air. Murdoch writes that there are seethiug troubles throughout the Islamic world owing to the disruption of the Sultan’s Empire. It is the theme of earnest discussion. General Allenby’s reports are optimistic but serious. He reiterates tho request that the Council should recognise the British protectorate in Egypt, and announce a definite policy regarding Syria. General Alleuby describes the condition of the whole of Asia Minor as dangerous, especially Anatolia and Syria, whore the Young Turks are actively inflaming the Moslems against Christians. A crack division has embarked in England for General Allenby’s assistance. The British murdered in Egypt number many hundreds. One English colony was wiped out. Tho whole of tho Australian Light • Horse are now r in Egypt, and the 12th Regiment has been sent to the Soudan. The rnerf are greatly disappointed at the interruption of repatriation, and fee! strongly that they should be sent homo as soon os ever relief is possible.
