DEATH WHILE RIDING.
FATE OF FITZROY'RESIDENT.
An inquest concerning the death of Mr. A. Hagenson of Fitzroy (New Plymouth) , was held at Waita anga on Thursday afternoon before Mr. Laird, of Tauuiarunui. From the evidence it appeared that Mr. Hagenson was riding to his farm at Waitaanga on Wednesday and had a seizure when about two" miles distant from his destination. Dr. Cheesman, who examined the body, was of opinion that Mr, Hagenson was dead when he fell from the horse. The body was discovered by a child, and subsequently taken to a whare in the vicinity. Mr. Frank Hagenson, a son of the deceased, was absent from the farm at the time,, but returned later in the’day. A verdict was returned 1 in accord with the medical l testimony. The remains were ■brought to Fitzroy on Thursday night, via Whnngamomona and Stratford. Mr. Hagenson, who was about 75 years of age, came io the Dominion from Sweden about 50 years ago, and has led a very active life here. For many years he was in the Dannevirko district, and then brought his family to reside at Fitzroy. One of his sons (Alfred) made the supreme sacrifice in the war. He leaves a widow, two sons and three daughters' to mourn their loss.
