WEST END SCHOOL.
(PROPOSED SITE ■ APPROVED
NO IMMEDIATE PROSPECTS OF BUILDING,
The secretary to the Taranaki, Education Board lias received a communication from the Hon. D. H. Guthrie (Minister of Lands) regarding the transfer to the Taranaki Education Board, by arrangement with the New Plymouth Borough Council, of some land on Outfield Road which has been proposed as a new site for the West End School. Tiie Minister says: • “Referring to the representations made by the deputation which waited on me on the Oth ult. in regard to the question of providing a suitable site for the West End School, rvcw Plymouth, I have'-to say that 1 communicated with my colleague, the Minister of Education, and for your information I now' enclose a copy of his reply. From this yon will sec that the proposal to .set aside portion of Reserve E, containing 4J acres, has been approved.” The enclosed letter from the Minister of Education (the. Hon. J. A. Hamm) include the following passage: “It is unlikely that any immediate steps will be taken to erect buildings on the new site, but it is very desirable that the area, should be’ vested in the board.”
