A young lady in charge of a number of children at Kawaroa Park this morning fell off one of the swings and dislocated an elbow. She was- brought into town to the Health Bureau ami her injuries attended to by Dr. Blackley. Our AVellington correspondent telegraphs that the licensing poll will bo held in April. It is proposed that the payment of compensation shall be mainly by debentures. The issues in a possible second poll arc: (1) Continuance; (2) prohibition without compensation; (3) State ownership. It is estimated that State ownership will require an expenditure of 10 millions. The secretary to the Taranaki Licensed AUctuallers’ Association reported to-day having wired to the Minister of Public Health asking him to remove the embargo on the opening of hotel liars. The following reply has been received from the Minister (the Hon. G'. AA’. Bussell): ‘’The question of reopening hotels is under consideration, and when resolved upon will take effect at once.”
