A KAISER EFFIGY. USED TO COLLECT FUNDS. (Received Nov. 23, 9.25 a.m.) PRAGUE, Nov. 21. A gigantic straw effigy of the Kaiser was paraded in the city. It was called “The Invincible Wilhelm,” and the public were invited to stick pins in its feet at 5 kroner each, the receipts to be need for Czech war charities.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. - FRENCH AT BUDAPEST. CZECHS FIGHT GERMANS. I (Received Nov. 23, 9.25 a.m.) PARIS, Nov. , 21. . Three French divisions have occupied Budapest. . There was a fierce battle at SlUoin station between Czech forces and Mackensen’s troops, whom the Czechs tried forcibly to disarm. Large numbers on both sides were killed and wounded. Eight hundred were killed in the streets of Lemberg in fighting between the Poles and Ruthonians. —Aus.-NIZ. Cable Assn. FIGHTING CONTINUES. AMSTERDAM. Nov. 21. Fighting continues in northern Hungary between the Czechs and the Magyar troops.
