INGLEWOOD.
FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. August B.—The mooting on Saturday "to re-allirm our inflexible determination to continue the struggle to a successful end, etc.,'’ went oft quietly. His Worship occupied the chair, and after explaining the object of the meeting, put the motion, and called upon .Mr. J. W. Winfield to .second it. Tho latter said that in his opinion no sane man could refuse to support .such a motion. Wo must go forward with the work wo have begun; not until Germany has had justice meted out to her for her wrongs could we stay our hands. He had much pleasure in seconding the motion. The Mayor then put it to the meeting, and it was carried unanimously. Mr. Henry Brown also supplemented tho previous speakers’ remarks. Lieut. H. J. Thomson is in Inglewood to-day on final leave. Mr. Duke, late manager for Mr. A. S. Tonks, or Hawera, is now the local representative of the Farmers’ Co-op. in tho position previously held by Private ‘'Scotty" Clarke.
Mr. J. Scott, at one time agent for Mr. Rog. Rogers, is now the local agent for the Loan and Mercantile Company. Sergeant-Major Crompton, who was hatlly knocked about in a motor-cycle accident a few days ago, is once more able to get about, but shows signs (sundry bandages and a pronounced limp) of tho rough treatment ho received. It is reported that Messrs. Ible and Stewart, of Tarata, have both bought farms near Inglewood.
