EFFICIENCY BOARD

MEETING OF LOCAL TRUSTEES. A meeting of tho New Plymouth trustees of the National Efficiency Board was held on 'Wednesday afternoon, Mr. T. Furlong presiding, and the other trustees, Messrs. E. Whittle and F. J. Hill (secretary) were also present. A considerable amount of correspondence was dealt with—from Mr. G. H. Bnckcridge. Eltkam (provincial secretary). and Mr. T. Moss, the 'Wellington commissioner, dealing with resolutions passed at a provincial meeting held a short time ago. A circular which had been issued throughout New Zealand with the view of educating women so that their services may he. utilised, and also suggesting that each district should move as far as it possibly could in the matter, was discussed.—lt was decided that a register should be opened at New Plymouth for the purpose of enrolling women who arc prepared on patriotic grounds to assist tho movement as far as possible. An application was received from a reservist drawn in the ballot for financial assistance.—An application form for presentation to tho Financial Aid Board will he sent to him. An experienced farmer offered his services ns manager of any vacant farm.—This had been forwarded on to the provincial secretary, who replied that he would endeavour to find a good position for the applicant. Tho secretary reported that he had communicated with all tho local school teachers with the object of securing the, services of youths for next season’s harvest.—Mr. R. L. M'llroy wrote stating that he would be. very pleased to fair in with the suggestion, and said of) Central School boys would he available. Mrs. Rowling wrote saying that 20 hoys would be available from AVest End. Tho secretary said ho was expecting, replies shortly from the other schools" Up to the present he had secured the services of 1-50 boys.
