Sir Douglas Haig keeps hammering at the German positions, and hardly a day passes without some ground being gained. This activity wall hold many German troops and give an opportunity for offensives elsewhere on the west front when the time atiites. The Austrians are opening with attacks on the Carso front, the weather not vet permitting activity in the Tyrol, where their last year’s offensive took place. China has protested against Germany's submarine excesses and may possibly join the Allies.
