LICENSING COMMITTEE.

THE QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Licensing Committee was held at noon to-day. Present; —Messrs. A. CrooKu. S.M. (chairman), W. Ambury, P. P. Corkill, J. B. Connett, D. H. M'Donald and W. Li Newman. Mr. A. H. Johnstone appeared for Spencer Ridglcy, applicant for renewal of license of Terminus Hotel. Sub-Inspector Fouhy said the minimum repairs required by the District Health Officer had been attended to. Mr. H. R. Billing appeared on behalf of the owner, Mrs. R. Tabor, and said ho understood that everything required had been done. Mr. R. Day gave evidence that the hotel was in a sanitary state, and repairs as suggested had been satisfactorily carried out. The chairman intimated that the committee had examined the plans for the new Oakura Hotel, and approved of them. 1 With reference to the Inglewood Hotel, Mr. Johncipife (for the licensee, Mr. A. Laing) said there had been some' delay in putting in hand the alterations ordered by the committee, hut a contract had now been let, and the work was in hand.
