/ Mr A. E. Maiming, managing director of the Waikato Times Company, Limited, is on a visit to New Plymouth. Mr. Frank Reynolds, who has been tor some time ' connected with the Elthain Borough Council, has been appointed clerk of the Akitro County Council. Mr H E. Sullen, manager of the Regal Shoo Company, who has ©Misted, for active service, has, been notified to proceed to Trentham on Monday, 18th inst., to join the nqn-coms camp. It is understood Sir Thomas - Mackenzie will be continued as High Commissioner till the close 9 f the war. He has boon definitely appointed for a further six months, with the imderetawung tliat an extension will be granted. Mr Gresley Lukin, editor of the Evening Post, who- has been confined to his home w’ith illness for some weeks past, suffered a relapse on Wednesday evening, and his condition is giving concern for grave anxiety. It is officially announced that Private Thomas Nugent, a member of A Company, 17th Reinforcenients, died at Auckland on the afternoon of the _sth iust., from cerebro-spinal meningitis.
