AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

MEETING OF CO.MMITTEE. A meeting of the general committee of the Taranaki Agricultural Society was held at the site of tho proposed new show grounds at Waiwaknihii on Saturday afternoon. There wore present : Messrs. J. ,S. Coiinett fpresident), D. J. Hughes, I). I’omvarden, N. Hill, C. Andrews. H. Moueytield. A. T. Moore, W. Hall, A. Lister, d. LongstalT. T. Luxton, T. Smellie. A. S. Frost. C. W. Kuebe, H. Street, G. Colson. 11. C. Sampson, E. Wells, W. Moneyiield.

The ground was carefully inspected, and informal discussions took place as to the host method of laying one the ■ 'rounds.

Subsequently a meeting was held at the secretary's office. when resolutions were passed approving of. the site and authorising, the Finance- Committee to tiring down a comprehensive report, embracing recommendations regarding the laving-ont of the grounds, to be laid ficfore a general meeting ol niemhors at an early date. The following recommendations of the Kxecntivc Committee*wore adopted:— That reports of the siih-cmmniUce appointed to revise the schedule of the. winter show be approved; that the catering be lett in the hands of the chairman and secretary ; that the chairman and Messrs. Browne. Nolan. -1. Honevlicld and \V. lloaly, with power to add to their number, ho a sub-com-mittee to go into the matter of space at the winter show; that the question of lighting: arrangements, etc., bo referred lo the Snare Committee; that Mr. F. Watson’s' name be added to the Medal Committee; that the recommendation of the Annexe Committee to leave the annexes as they stand for this vear be annroved; that permission be asked to raffle four gold nuggets, value flu, .€■-). £3. and £2, and that tickets be Is each; that two hand-painted cushions also be raffled, tickets to bo 6d cadi; that the various schedule committees be asked to recommend judges.
