Upon entering the main shop one is struck by its great depth, the massive staircase in the centre, which leads to the large, stock room on the second floor. and the excellent manner in which the lighting arrangements have been carried out; there is not even the suspicion of a dark corner anywhere in the whole premises. The counter and furnishing anangements are such that the promises arc divided into sections as it were, each department being kept separate from the other. On the 1> It hand immediately upon entering the premises is the haberdashery. hosiery, embroidery unci lace department. The cash desk, as already intimated, is situated on the left of the building and is raised, the diilerent counters being connccie dto this desk by means oi the Ijawsoa rapid-wire system. So far five stations have been installed.and one has only to see them in operation to realise their immense advantages. Another great convenience to customers is the writing-table which has been fitted up underneath the staircase. This is for the benefit of clients, and writing utensils will.be provided. The telephone is also found here. The lighting, both natural and artificial. is worthy of special mention. It is really "a treat” to go into a shop which is so liberally treated in this icspoct. In addition to the ordinary sash lights, two huge wells have also been provided. The electric lighting is also on a lavish scale, no less than forty-two big half watt lamps being installed. At night when those are all switched on the'building is brilliantly illumined. Provision has been made for three radiator;? for use during the winter months, and in addition there is also a fireplace in the centre of the main store. .

Mr. Morey has covered the whole of the floor space with a very handsome inlaid linoleum, which adds greatly to the attractiveness of the premises. Mr. Morey is to he heartily congratulated upon the enterprise he has shown, and town and country people alike will ere long fully compensate him for the big outlay he has made.
