FROM . CUB OWN CORRESPONDENT. Deo. 8. —Mr. Flintoff met with a painful accident on Wednesday afternoon. While driving home from Inglewood his horses bolted, and tbo brakes refusing to act Mr. Flintoff wijs pulled from his seat and thrown on to the ground. The wheels of the buggy pasesd over his leg, and ho 'was much u.ufM-u and cut. tie are pleased to hear that ho is progressing favourably, and hope to see him about soon again. Owing to the. inclemency of the weather the Agricultural Department’s travelling lecturer (Mr. Sergei) had to pat oif his lecture. The Pukeho school concert is coming off on Friday next, and the local school concert, on the following Friday, is to be followed by a dance. After a long spell of unsettled weather. wo have experienced quite a delightful change, and the farmers are taking advantage of the present fine weather ■to got their crops in before Christmas. Practically all the shearing here is finished, and some of the farmers who have sold their wool locally have received record prices—one getting as much as Is 4|d per lb. '
