AUCKLAND TROTTING MEETING. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION, AUCKLAND, Oct. 20. For the Auckland Trotting Club’s spring meeting -phe weather was squally and the track on the heavy side. Results : Maiden Trot, miles.—Congo 1, Special Bloom 2. Huia 3. Scratched: Striker, Desmond and Roseate. Won by four lengths. Time, 3min. 54 3-5 sec. The Taranaki Jockey Club District Committee met in the secretary’s office ! on Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock. Pres- : ent: Messrs. L. A. Nolan (in the chair), I S. Pitt, G. Frasct, A. Alexander, W. i C. Weston, J. M'Lo.cd, L. 'WLscor, A. | R. Standish, N. King, B. ji, Chaney, j and E. F. Blundell. An apology for j absence was received from Mr. Budge. ! The Stratford Racing Club’s proj gramme for January 1 and 3 was apj proved. I Trainers’ licenses were granted to A. | B. Clark and N. K, M‘Donell. A gentleman rider’s license was granted to P. Collins. A trainer’s license was cancelled owing to misbehaviour. The Taranaki Jockey Club Committee met at the conclusion of the District Committes’s meeting, when the same gentlemen were present with the exception of Mr. S. Pitt. Mr. Thomas Cameron wrote accept--1 ing the position of starter for tho Christinas meeting. Mr. J. R. Porrett was appointed judge for the Christmas meeting. Messrs. Roberts and Son's tender (£*l7o 7s) was accopvd for enlargements to the ladies’ room in the main stand, and that of Messrs, Boon Bros, for moving the outside latrines and painting in the main stand. It was decided to hold a general meeting of members on Friday, 20th inst., at 4 p.m., to consider proposals in connection with regulations for the Gaming Amendment Act. The committee decided to call for tenders for publican’s booth amongst the members of the Taranaki Licensing District. Sub-committees were set up to make arrangements for tho control of the kiosk and catering for the season. It .was resolved that the club keep open the subscriptions of all members, during their absence, who may volunteer for the front. Accounts amounting to £7S Ss Id were passed for payment.
