Mr. Wise has arrived in London and will commence his duties as AgentGeneral for .New South \\ ales on Mednesday.

At the meeting of the New Plymouth High School Board of Governors on Monday night the following resolution was carried :—“Xhat this board desires to convey its great sympathy to the parents and family of the late Corporal V. J. B. Hall on liis death at the Dardanelles, and to place on record its appreciation of the excellent service rendered by him when on tho board’s staff, and from which position he was one of the first to volunteer for service at tho front.” Two of tho men included in Monday’s casualty lists aro moil well-known _in Okato and other parts of this district. Trooper D. S. Fox, not previously reported. and now wounded, at Malta, was formerly in business at Hnwcra, and latterly with Mr. J. S. Pox. at Okato. Ho joined the third reinforcements; and was attached to tho Wellington Infantry, but when in Egypt was transferred to the Otago Mounted Rifles. * Tho other soldier, Trooper H. Smith, wounded, at Malta, now fit for service and proceeding to Egypt, was formerly employed by Mr. J. S. Fox at Okato, resigned in order to join tho third reinforcements.
