The following are tho results of Saturday’s football matches:— Rugby Union.—College Rifles beat Ponsonby by 20 to 3; City beat Unifwsrsity by 35 to 0; Marists’ Old Boys best ParneU 21 to 6. Bsigby League.—City beat Grafton IS'-to Kk; Ponsnoby beat North Snore 18 to- 0; Newton boat Otahuhu IS to 6. Association.-—-Tabernacle beat Young M ea?.s Christian Association by 1 goal ■to 0; Brotherhood beat Adult School 2 to 1; Everton beat North Shore 2 to 0. MATCHES AT WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, June ’2O. Football-on Saturday was played on cold, muddy grounds, and snow Sprinkled the players slightly. Rugby results were:—Athletic boat Oriental 10 to 0; -Trentham B drew with Porteke- (no score); University beat Solwyn 8 to 3; Petone.beat Wellington 22-to 0; Trontham C beat Trontham A. 2 to 6. League game.—Hutt won from Suburbs by default. Tho other games fell through. Association players indulged in a carnival, but this was spoiled by rain itnd mud. SATURDAY COMPETITION. CLIFTON (3) v. OKATO (3). The Saturday cup competition was continued on Saturday, The Clifton team journeyed- to Okato, but they could only draw with the local team. The’weather was atrocious, a cold wind and occasional hail showers making matters very unpleasant. Good football, therefore, was impossible. The game- was evenly contested, and was mainly a battle between tho forward*. One minute, Okato would be hold up on their line and tho next they would have the visitors hard pressed. This up and down play continued practically throughout the match. In the first spdl V. Tate scored for Clifton after a good run. Abbott failed to convert. This was tho ouly score in the opening half. Okato had slightly tho better of the second spell, but they could only score once. From a scrum near the corner Corbett secured and worked his way over. Eustace failed to convert. There was no score and tho game resulted in a draw, Mr, L. H. 'Andrews refereed. THE KASPAR CUP. AWCkato on Saturday Pa riba ka defeated Ptmibo by 6 points to 3. For the winners Kupe and Whet a scored tries, whilsb ’W, Edwards touched down for Pnniho. Mr. E. Leedon refereed. FIXTURES. The following fixtures have been drawn up.
