English and American mails, via San Francisco, will arrive Loro on Monday night. The thirteenth annual meeting of the Taranaki Master Tailors’ Association was held at Stratford on June 17. There was a splendid attendance, all the towns in tho district hoing represented. Tho following officers were appointed for tho ensuing year:—President, Mr. H. Cocker; vice-presidents, Messrs. Bosley, Iboborts, Stubbs, llobb, Hoffman, Holtham, anct' Carrie; secretary and treasurer,. Mr. G. I/. Manners; committee, Messrs. Bosley, Forbes and Pearce. Napier reports that on Thursday, in tho southern parts of tho city, was witnessed an atmospheric disturbance display which lasted for some three hours, and is said to be the Aurora Australis. Viewed from the Napier Parade, the scene was one of magnificence. Tho sky was fiery red in appearance, and along the horizon was a sorabro half-light, while with continuous rapidity great streamers of light shot upwards through tho fiery hank above Press Association. A reminder is given of ,tlio sale tomorrow afternoon, at 2.00, of a quantity of second-hand timber and iron, on tho section, Morley Street, next to Hill’s sl*ro.
